As was reported by China Economic Times sponsored by State Council Development Center on March 5,1997 a research made by American John Hopkings Hospital show that the waterpillow is as beneficial as the waterbed to health in that it relieves cervical vertebra disease patients suffering from cervical vertebra protrusion and bened hyperplasia of the pain and make the patients asleep as soon as possible.

The weight of one’s head ranges from 10 to 14 pounds.which must be supported when you lie down.An ordinary pillow can only support the head,leaving the neek hanging in the air.It will result in tension and stress on your cervical vertebra and spine,make your muscle stretched tight with spasm and pain.

According the material from American John Hopkings Hospital,ordinary pillows fail to support your head and neck equally.Experts of this hospital ask 20 male patients and 21 female and waterpillows for 2 weeks at last.They found that the waterpillow is able to apparently enhance the patients’ sleeping quality and lighten their pain in the necks after getting up every day.Main researcher of the project Robert Lavin said that pain in the neek usually comes from damages to neck muscles or cervical vertebra.The waterpillow,however,exploits the characteristic of "being all-pervasive" of water to give the patient’s neek the most preferable support,which helps the patient make less head motions when sleeping and fix the head at a most comfortable gesture.He pointed out about 35 to 80 percent of the people throughout the world will neet with neck aching out of various reasons during their lifetime,that choosing a suitable pillow is the easiest and most efficient way of relieving neek aching.The research by this hospital also shows that long-time application to a waterpillow can prevent cervical vertebra diseases happening and produce a good physical curative effect to whoever suffers from cervical vertebra disease.
